Tauranga: Veteran India fast bowler Jhulan Goswami on Wednesday became the first woman to complete 250 wickets in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Goswami achieved the feat during a match against England in the ongoing ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 at the Bay Oval. The 39-year-old, who made her ODI debut in 2002, reached the milestone in her 198th innings. England’s Cathryn Fitzpatrick (180 wickets), West Indies’ Anisa Mohammed (180 wickets), South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail (168 wickets) and England’s Katherine Brunt (164 wickets) complete the top five. On March 12, Goswami had become the all-time highest wicket-taker in Women’s ODI World Cups. She broke the 34-year-old record which was held by Australia’s Lynette Fullston (39 wickets). Goswami now has 41 wickets from 32 innings in the Women’s ODI World Cups. UNI PN
