Srinagar | 22 April 2026: The Capt Vishal Bhandral, Kirti Chakra (Posthumous) North Kashmir Volleyball Premier League 2025-26 concluded on a high note, celebrating sportsmanship, unity, and youth participation across the region.
Organised in memory of Capt Vishal Bhandral for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, the annual tournament has emerged as one of the most prestigious sporting events in North Kashmir, witnessing enthusiastic participation and growing popularity among local youth.
The tournament was conducted in two phases. The first phase, held from 23 to 28 March 2026 at Manasbal, Pohrupet, Charkut, and Haiderbeg, attracted large crowds and fostered a vibrant sporting atmosphere. The second phase took place from 06 to 21 April 2026 in Bandipora, featuring top teams competing for the coveted title.
The grand finale was held on 21 April 2026 at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Bandipora, where Safapora Volleyball Team faced Jahama Warriors in an exciting clash, showcasing exceptional skill and sportsmanship.
The event was graced by the General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo), along with officials from the District Administration, J&K Police, and paramilitary forces, highlighting the significance of sports in promoting unity and positive engagement.
This year’s league stands as a landmark celebration of passion, discipline, and communal harmony, paying a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of Capt Vishal Bhandral, Kirti Chakra.
