COVID-19: J&K logs 31 fresh cases; no death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported 31 fresh cases pushing the number of active cases to 169 while as no death was reported in last 24 hours in the UT.

With no more death, the death toll in J&K stands at 4,750 and 31 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 453,768.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 31 new cases, 30 belong to Kashmir division while as 01 is from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 287,509 including 284,926 recoveries and 2,423 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 166,259 including 163,923 recoveries and 2,327 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 169 including 160 from Kashmir division and 09 from Jammu division.

With 13 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 448,849 which is 98.92 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 18 from Srinagar, 01 from Baramulla, 01 from Budgam, 04 from Pulwama, 02 from Kupwara, 03 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 01 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 01 from Jammu division include 01 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.

As per officials figures, 102,496 positive cases including 907 deaths and 101,468 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,636 including 304 deaths and 37,318 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,831 including 34,590 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Budgam, 18,429 including 18,223 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,748 including 174 deaths and 21,569 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,430 including 22,205 recoveries and 219 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,686 cases including 13,568 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,626 including 13,542 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,321 including 16,199 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,306 including 6,244 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 76,184 including 74,953 recoveries and 1,223 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,767 including 14,620 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,807 including 12,558 recoveries and 249 deaths are from Rajouri, 11,529 including 11,385 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Doda, 11,411 including 11,245 recoveries and 166 deaths are from Kathua, 9,086 including 8,961 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Samba, 5,895 including 5,848 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,740 including 7,630 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Poonch, 8,138 including 8,069 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,702 including 8,654 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,343,797 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 31,639 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 169 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 5,820,534 persons have completed the surveillance period and 486,705 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 24,403,674 samples are available. Out of 24,403,674 the number of samples tested negative stands at 23,949,906 while as 453,768 have tested positive, among them 169 cases are active, 453,768 have recovered and 4,750 persons have died—(KNO)
