Bijapur :A half-hour-long exchange of fire took place between Maoists and security personnel on Monday within Pamed Police Station limits of this restive district in Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division, police said. No casualties were reported during the gun-battle following which the rebels fled. A search operation is underway in the area. In neighbouring Narayanpur district, ultras brought traffic to a standstill by damaging an interior road. The insurgents called a ‘Dandakaranya bandh’ on this day and put up banners as well as posters. UNI XC-AC
