Anantnag, June 4: National Conference leader and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, has welcomed the decision taken by National Conference legislators under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at Dachigam National Park to hold a protest demonstration in New Delhi on the opening day of the upcoming Parliament Monsoon Session, demanding the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued today, Imran Shah said that the decision reflects the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the democratic rights and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is working in accordance with the expectations of the people and remains steadfast in pursuing both the developmental and aspirational goals of the region.
Shah emphasized that the National Conference was the first political party to pass a resolution seeking the restoration of statehood, describing it as a fundamental democratic right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the party will continue to raise the issue at every appropriate platform until the promise of statehood is fulfilled.
Meanwhile, Imran Shah visited the Tantary Check Anzvola area of Anantnag to express solidarity with Abdul Hameed Tantary and his family following the recent fire incident that caused significant damage to their property. He conveyed his sympathies to the affected family.
Imran Shah urged the administration to assess the losses at the earliest and provide adequate compensation and all possible assistance to the affected family.
