RAJOURI, DECEMBER 22: Government Boys Model Higher Secondary School Rajouri celebrated National Mathematics Day with great enthusiasm and academic fervor. The Day is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, one of India’s most renowned mathematicians.
As part of the programme, a documentary showcasing the life, struggles and extraordinary contribution of Srinivasa Ramanujan was screened for the students. The documentary shed light on his self-taught brilliance, unwavering dedication to mathematics and his seminal work in the fields of number theory, infinite series, continued fractions and mathematical analysis, which continue to shape modern mathematical thought worldwide.
A special lecture, highlighting the importance of mathematics was delivered on the occasion. The speaker emphasized the vital role of mathematics in everyday life, scientific research and technological advancement, while underscoring how Ramanujan’s legacy serves as a source of inspiration for students to cultivate curiosity, perseverance and innovation.
