Kulgam, July 13: At least Ten Amarnath Yatra pilgrims sustained injuries after three buses collided with each other on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH44) near Khudwani crossing in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on sunday.An official said that the accident occurred when one of the buses, bearing registration number MT41ZD 7546, reportedly lost control and rammed into two other vehicles bearing registration numbers MP44ZD 7717 and JK2Y 0798.
Soon after the mishap, 14 Yatris were initially evacuated by Kulgam Police and shifted to PHC LG Pora Wanpoh for first aid. However, medical staff at the facility provided treatment to only 09 pilgrims, as the remaining five did not require medical attention.
For enhanced security and further observation, the nine injured pilgrims were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag. All are reported to be in stable condition, said an official.
The injured have been identified as:
1. Darjan S/o Inkolal R/o MP,
2. Ishor Lal S/o Mongi Lal R/o MP,
3. Mohal Lal S/o Choni Lal R/o Monawar, MP,
4. Piswan Choudhary S/o Ram Chand Choudhary R/o MP,
5. Bagas Ratan S/o Shiv Ram R/o Nagrini, MP,
6. Mushra S/o Narbi Ram R/o Riti Pora, MP,
7. Sham Lal S/o Nanci Lal R/o Mansoor, MP,
8. Ishwar Lal Bali S/o Mohan Lal R/o MP,
9. Jagarnath S/o Modi Lal R/o MP
All the injured are residents of Madhya Pradesh and were part of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra (SANJY-2025).
Police took cognizance of the incident.
