Srinagar, : A fire broke out on Tuesday morning in one of the rooms of the MLA Hostel in Srinagar.
Eyewitnesses said that smoke emanated from a locked room and they immediately informed the Fire and Emergency Services Department that put out the fire in the nick of time.
An official said that a fire had broken out from a locked room. “We broke the windows and the door and controlled the fire. There was partial damage in one of the rooms of the building though massive smoke disfigured the paint of the front of the building,” he said.
The official added that some windows, paneling and bedding were gutted in the incident.
A police official said that a case has been registered to ascertain the cause of the fire. (CNS)
