Srinagar, : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson and In Charge Constituency Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq on Monday visited the affected families who lost their houseboats and dwellings in a tragic fire incident in Dal Lake, Srinagar.
Tanvir expressed sympathies with the affected families and implored the administration to immediately offer low-interest loans to the victims. “Despite the valiant efforts of locals, the tragic incident claimed the lives of three tourists, compounding the extensive damage,” he said.
Seeking a comprehensive rehabilitation package for the affected, Tanvir said, “These owners should be allowed to rebuild their houseboats, considering the significant impact on their livelihoods. Govt should on priority sanction soft loans to the affected families so that they can rebuild their houseboats and damaged dwellings.”
While it is regrettable that three tourists lost their lives in this unfortunate incident, Tanvir demanded a thorough investigation without causing unwarranted harassment to any of the boat owners.
He was accompanied by the publicity secretary GM Mir Saqi, party’s local unit functionaries on the occasion.(GNS)
