Volunteers of VMRK (Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra) Nawan Nagar, District Panchkula, Haryana working under the tutelage of Sant Baljit Singh Ji, spiritual head of VMRK, have been taking care of the health of devotees of Mahadev on the high mountains during Shri Amarnath Yatra.
Amarnath yatra is a difficult terrain where even breathing becomes a hard task ,there VMRK volunteers are continuously and tirelessly serving the devotees who are undertaking the Yatra to have pious glimpse of Shankar Bhagwan in the cave of Amarnath.
Journey is of course arduous but the love of devotees and seeing the zeal of VMRK’s team fills everyone with enthusiasm.
This service has been started from this year on the instructions of Sant Baljit Singh ji, spiritual head of Vishav Manav Ruhani Kendra. VMRK has deployed ambulance services, shuttle services and established medical camps for the Pilgrims on the Yatra. There are two camps one at Barari-Baltal Marg, and the other at Domail-Baltal Marg. Currently team of 40 members including 20 members of medical staff which has MD & MBBS doctors, pharmacists, nurses etc., are serving devotees on their way to cave and back to Baltal base.
It is worth mentioning here that in the history of Amarnath Yatra, for first time a 4 wheel drive vehicle has been deployed as Ambulance by VMRK. Till date this 4×4 vehicle has carried 34 critical patients from upper mountaineous region to base medical camp in 40 mintutes, which otherwise would have taken 3 hours of time. Medical camps and ambulances are well equipped with all the modern medical equipment and all kind of medicine.
On the way back to base at Baltal, devotees are tired after undertaking 30 km of journey, that is where shuttle buses of VMRK are stationed and carry devotees for 3 KM to complete the last leg of journey from Domail to Baltal parking area.
VMRK has set up all the facilities after getting permission from the local administration. Round the clock Medical facilities are being provided to the devotees at these camps where daily OPD numbers reach upto 700. At present three ambulances are stationed with drivers in the base camps and are providing emergency services to the devotees. Apart from this, a team of 20 doctors and paramedical staffs and 20 members of volunteer team is consistently engaged in providing medical facilities under the coordination of the Camp Director. Not only this, pilgrims are being brought free of cost by passenger vehicles from Domail to the parking area of Baltal. Also, staff has been deployed along the route to bring patients to the base camp. Sh. Manmohan Singh Ji from VMRK team said that it is pertinent to mention that
