Kupwara : The Education Department in Lolab sub-division has issued an explanation notice to a teacher for unauthorizedly joining the duties at Upper Primary School at Rangwar.
“As reported by the teachers of PS Tangdub, a teacher who is presently on rationalization at PS Tangdub has joined at UPS Rangwar without any order of deployment/transfer from the higher ups/competent authority. Before taking any strict action under civil service conduct rules, the teacher in question is hereby directed to explain as why he has violated the norms and has joined on his own, without any permission order of the competent authority”, reads a communiqué shot by the ZEO Sogam to teacher in question reads.
“Moreover, such kind of act and violation will be reflected on records as well as on APR’s”, reads the communiqué.
“Moreover, HT UPS Rangwar is also directed to explain (how come) the said teacher was allowed to join in the school without any order from competent authority”, the communiqué reads further.
When contacted, Zonal Education Officer Sogam told GNS they have sought a detailed explanation from the teacher and the head-teacher into the matter. “We expect, they will soon come forward with their statements”, the ZEO said.
Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer Kupwara has directed the Zonal Education Officer to depute the teacher in question to Primary School Tangdub without any delay, failing which necessary action would be taken.
Inhabitants of the vicinity have in the meantime also expressed deep resentment over the education department for failing to provide quality education to the children.
“Government is making tall claims to provide quality education to the students, but nothing such is being seen on the ground”, a local said.
“The teachers who were posted at Primary School Tangdub are performing their duties elsewhere from last four years”, he said adding among the one among the two teachers who were deputed on rationalization at Primary School Tangdub, has given slip to education department here in Lolab and has joined at UPS Rangwar without any formal order.
