Srinagar : Despite the rains, thousands of people on Monday thronged the shrine of revered Sufi saint Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA), commonly known as ‘Datageer Sahib’  at Khaniyar here and offered prayers throughout the day on the annual Urs.

According to reports reaching GNS, people from different parts of the Valley converged at the famous shrine.

Devotees offered Durud (praises to prophet Muhammad (SAW)) while the chief cleric of the shrine threw light on the contributions by the saint in spreading Islam in the Jammu and Kashmir.
