Jammu : Police on Thursday said that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found in a bag in Ramban district.
“Joint team of JKP and Indian Army averted a major tragedy by recovering an Improvised Explosive Device in forested areas of Dharam in village Basra in Ramban district,” a police official said in a statement to GNS.
He said on a specific input regarding presence of a suspicious bag containing IED in isolated place, a joint operation was launched by JKP and Indian Army. “During search of forested area along Chainj Nala, an IED was recovered,” the official said, adding, “Bomb disposal squad from JKP and Indian Army called on spot and IED was destroyed in situ.” (GNS)
