Srinagar : Police on Monday arrested a man for firing three rounds from his licensed gun in Jammu’s Khour Deonian area which created panic among the locals, officials said.
“Today on an information received through reliable source that one person namely Jatinder Singh Salaria son of Sansar Singh Salaria of Khour Deonian has fired 03 rounds from his licensed 12 bore gun without any reason which has created fear among the locals in the area,”a a police official said in a statement to GNS.
“ As per information the person has committed offence U/S 336/IPC, 30 Arms Act,” he said, adding, “in this regard a case FIR No. 104/2022 U/S 336/IPC, 30 Arms Act has been registered and investigation entrusted.”
The official said that a police team from police station Miran Sahib headed by SHO Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura SH Surinder Singh and overall supervision of SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta rushed to the spot and with technical assistance and human intelligence apprehended the accused alongwith his licensed weapon. “The accused has been arrested and further investigation of case is going on.” (GNS)
