Srinagar : Delegation of J&K Media Guild led by its President Mir Aijaz, Vice President Bilal Bazaz, Spokesperson Shahid Rashid, Convenior Khalid Qureshi, Treasurer Jehangir Bukhari alongwith other members today called on Director Information and Public Relations Akshay Labroo at his Office in Srinagar.
According to a statement issued to press here in Srinagar, Spokesperson of J&K Media Guild, Mr Shahid Rashid said that director sahib gave them a patient hearing and assured to address all the issues confronted by the newsmen, especially by the Print Media in Kashmir valley. Threadbare discussion was held during the meeting. Issues like irrational distribution of advertisements, Accreditation of the Editors and Journalists, Welfare Schemes for the Journalists, Enhancement of Rates for the advertisements and other relevant problems were discussed at length.
Director Mr Akshay Labroo Stressed upon the Editors to upheld the institution of Media which has seen a tough tenure from last 35 years. We are on it and you will see the results within next few weeks. “As rationalization process has been taken up and I would like to assure all of you that injustice will be done to none” Director Added.
Jk media guild members expressed their optimism over the assurances by the worthy director during the meet and said the we firmly believe that under the leadership of the son of the soil the information department shall touch new heights and see a new dawn.
Other respected members of the delegation included Manzoor Ahmad, Mohammad Ayoub and Riyaz Ahmed.
