New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices were increased once again on Wednesday. According to price notification of Indian Oil Corporation, petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 101.01 per litre as against Rs 100.21 per litre previously while diesel Rs 92.27 per litre as against 91.47 per litre. In Delhi, petrol and diesel prices were increased by 80 paise each. In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 110.52 per litre (increased by 84 paise) while diesel is at Rs Rs 95.42 (increased by 80 paise). In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is available at Rs 115.88 while diesel is at Rs 100.10 per litre (increased by 84 paise and 85 paise respectively). In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 106.69 per litre while diesel Rs 96.76 per litre (increased by 75 paise and 76 paise respectively). This is the eighth hike in the past nine days. The oil companies have been increasing the petrol and diesel prices since March 22 (except on March 24). The fuel prices were on freeze since November 4, 2021, but the record 137 days hiatus ended on March 22 with an 80 paise per litre increase in rates of petrol and diesel. UNI AKM RNJ
