Srinagar: Senior leader BJP & Incharge Vice President Sonawari constituency Mohd Iqbal Jan has greeted people particularly of Jammu and Kashmir on Mehraj u Nabi, popularly known as hab-e-Mairaj.
In his message, Jan said that Shab-e-Mairaj is a glorious night, marking the Isra and Meraj of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he was taken from Makkah to Al-Haram-Al-Sharif, inside Al-Aqsa Mosque (also known as Baitul Muqaddas) and was then ascended to highest stages of the Heaven.
Meanwhile the senior BJP leader also greeted Pandits on Shivratri. He prayed that the auspicious occasions bring peace and development in the world particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jan urged the people to follow the teachings of Islam and footprints of Prophet (SAW) to further strengthen peace, brotherhood and communal harmony.
Prophet Muhammad’s nighttime journey from Mecca to the ‘Farthest Mosque’ in Jerusalem, where he ascended to heaven, was purified, and given the instruction for Muslims to pray five times daily.
