Mumbai: State-run Indian Railway Construction (IRCON) on Saturday said it has been appointed as a project implementation agency for the construction of the Rs 1780 crore worth road project in Myanmar. “IRCON has been appointed as ‘Project Implementation Agency’ for “Construction of Road from Paletwa (Myanmar) to Zorinpuri (Mizoram) under Kaladan Multimodal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP)” in Myanmar, on EPC mode at Lump Sum cost of Rs 1780 crore by the Ministry of External Affairs,” it said in a regulatory filing. The company further said that the duration of the project would be 40 months from the date of execution of the necessary agreement which will be executed within the next 14 days. IRCON, set up under the ownership of the Ministry of Railways, has so far completed more than 300 infrastructure projects in India and more than 100 projects across the globe in more than 21 countries.
