New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid homage to the CRPF personnel who lost their lives in a Pakistan sponsored dastardly terror attack on their convoy in Pulwama in 2019. In a tweet, the PM said, “I pay homage to all those martyred in Pulwama on this day in 2019 and recall their outstanding service to our nation. Their bravery and supreme sacrifice motivates every Indian to work towards a strong and prosperous country.” Feburary 14, 2022 marks the third anniversary of the Pulwama attack in which a suicide bomber namely Aadil Dar rammed car laden with improvised explosives into the convoy of the CRPF personnel killing 40 of them. Home Minister Amit Shah also paid his tributes. In a tweet in Hindi, he said, “I pay my heartfelt tributes to the brave jawans of CRPF who kept the sovereignty of the country intact by making supreme sacrifice in the dastardly terror attack of Pulwama. The country will always be indebted to your sacrifice. Your bravery will continue to inspire us to root out terrorism.” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh too remembered the CRPF personnel killed in the attack. “This country will never forget the sacrifices of the brave CRPF jawans who were killed in Pulwama in 2019. I pay my tribute to them,” he said. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in a tweet said, “Humble tributes to the brave martyrs of 2019 Pulwama terror attack. The nation will forever be grateful to our brave soldiers of CRPF and their families. We are firmly resolved to eliminate menace of terrorism.” On February 17, 2019 Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “This is the time for restraint and mourning. But I want to assure all the families of slain soldiers that all their tears will be avenged.” Indian Air Force carried out a strike on the Jaish e Mohammed camp in Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan 12 days after the attack.
