Ganderbal:Panic has gripped Chodribagh and it’s adjoining areas of Ganderbal after power canal road has developed major cracks.
Locals said that there are major cracks in power canal road near Chodribagh area of Dobipora in Ganderbal District after incessant rain and Snowfall in Ganderbal District.
They said cracks are now very wide and power canal will breach it will lead to a disaster in many villages of the area.
On the direction of DC Ganderbal Krittika Jyotisna, team of District administration including ADC and Tehsildar has been rushed to the spot & efforts are being made for the safety of people.
Locals added that it is just three kilometres from main chowk Ganderbal and if immediate steps won’t be taken it will lead to loss of lives besides property.
Local residents alleged that diging of the road for laying Fibre cable may have caused the cracks to develop.
Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Kashmir, Exn PDC and other departments also visits the spot and accertain the situation Locals appreciate the efforts of SHO Ganderbal Gulzar Ahmad Executive Engineer PDC said we have deputed our staff here and will take further steps on it.
Chief Engineer Kashmir Jal Shakti said that local residents does not need to panic our employees are accertaing the situation at the site,there will be no effect to water supply of Srinagar City.
