RAMBAN, DECEMBER 12: Forest Division Ramban today conducted a series of plantation drives here at Panchyat Chamalwas Lower B & Upper A, Draman, Ind and Eidgah Chareel under Har Goan Hariyali campaign aimed at improving green cover in the district.
Plantation drives were launched at Panchayat level in collaboration with PRIs and the general public to achieve the motive of green J&K.
DFO Ramban, Dr. Rajan Singh, Tehsildar Banihal Imtiyaz Ahmed, Sarpanch Chamalwas Muneer Ahmed, Range Officers, local officers and PRIs attended the drive in their respective areas.
The DFO Ramban sought the cooperation of the locals and PRIs in protection and conservation of the forests. He also sensitized the public regarding One Beat Guard One Village Programme, JK Green Drive- Har Goan Haryali and also sought the help from PRIs, NGOs and the general public to make the programme a success.
The DFO said that all Panchayats of the district will be covered by Forest and Social Forest Departments under Flagship Programme Har Goan Haryali.
Plants and seed balls were also distributed among the locals.
A similar plantation drive, under JK Green Drive, was conducted in Panchayat Draman, Rajgarh which was attended by DDC Councilor Rajgarh Mohammad Shafi , officers and officials of department and locals.
