Bandipora, Aug 6: A hospital ambulance gutted in a fire incident in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Reports said that ambulance that belonged to District Hospital Bandipora caught fire when it was on way to Srinagar from Bandipora ferrying a patient.
The incident occurred near Chorteng area of Ajas Bandipora.
Chief Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Bashir Ahmed confirmed the incident to news agency Kashmir News Trust saying the cause of fire is being ascertained.
Prima facie it seems the ambulance caught fire after its engine heated up.
Driver, patient and that attendants alighted from the ambulance after the incident and escaped unhurt.
A fire tender rushed to spot and doused the flames. (KNT)
