Karnah July 3: A 15-year-old boy drowned while taking bath in tadd area of Karnah in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday aftrnoon .
Reports said that the boy identified as one Tofeeq Ahmad Gorsi(15) son of Mohammad Rafeeq Gorsi resident of Prada area of Karnah had taken to Nallah Kajinaag for bath with a group. The teenager soon after venturing into the water body went untraceable, forcing those accompanying him to raise an alarm.
Local told that after the incident, police was informed and a search operation was launched to retrieve the body.
The body was retrieved hours later from Pingla Haridal power canal.
Meanwhile a police official concerned confirmed about the death of teenager and said that the body was handed over to next-of-kins on conduct of due medico-legal formalities.
