260 beds for Covid management are available in the hospital at present says Director SKIMS Soura
Srinagar 20 April: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, P K Pole on Tuesday said that there are no plans for imposing lockdown in Kashmir division of the Union Territory and insisting on following of Covid SOPs to prevent the situation from worsening.
Div Com said this during a press conference held in Srinagar. He said that around 90,000 Covid cases have come in the valley till now and from it 80,000 have recovered so far.
He further said that around 7300 positive cases are currently present in the valley. “We have tested till now 28 lakh people among whom 20 lakh have done through RT PCR and rest by rapid antigen test,” said P K Pole.
Div Com also stated that in level 1 tertiary care and level 2 there are around 1500 beds available and among whom only 30% of beds have been occupied. “But we are in the process of increasing the number of beds,” he said.
Regarding the oxygen, Div Com said that non medical oxygen supply has been banned and oxygen will be supplied for only medical use.
On the following SOPs, Div Com said that the Covid protocols are already known to the people, but little carelessness is there. “We should be careful towards the following of Covid protocols to avoid the situation turning into an awful one,” said Div Com.
Meanwhile during the press conference SKIMS Soura director A G Ahanger said that 260 beds for Covid-19 management are available in the hospital at present. Replying to a question whether the fare charges will be increased or not as order from LG permitting public transport to ply at 50% of its authorized seating capacity, Div Com P K Pole said that whatever the directions from government would be about it that will be
informed to the media, as the same was directed during the last time. (KNB)
