Uri, Jan 20: An Inter-village Volleyball Competition was organised by 70 Bn BSF at NHPC Volleyball ground near remote border village Jabla (Salamabad) Uri, district Baramulla on Wednesday under FIT INDIA MOVEMENT.
According to officials, one team each from border villages Jabla, Gwalta and Kamal Kot and two teams from border village Gohalan (total five) participated in the competition.
“The final match was played between Gohalan “A” and Gohalan “B”. In a nail biting finish Gohalan “A” defeated Gohalan “B” and lifted the Inter-Village Volleyball Competition”, an official said.
He said the trophy to the winning team was awarded by Shri Sanjay Sharma, Commandant 70 Bn BSF. “Besides the winning team, consolation prizes were also given to the players of all participating teams”, he said.
Meanwhile many sport lovers from border villages were present to
cheer and support their respective teams despite the weather being
chilly and temperature reading below 05 degrees.
At the
occasion the competition was followed by the cordial interaction between
BSF officials and players over tea and refreshment.
Notably the volleyball ground was provided by the CISF unit Uri. (KNS)
