Srinagar, Nov 11 (KNO): Amid ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the annual examinations of Class 10th commenced in Kashmir on Wednesday in which 74,858 students appeared across the Valley and winter zone areas of Jammu division.
The officials informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that out of total enrolled 75,063 students; 74,858 students appeared in the examination of Mathematics paper at 814 designated examination centers.
In an official communiqué, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) said, “The secondary Class annual regular examination of 10th class commenced from 09-11-2020 with vocational subject. Today, the Mathematics paper was conducted all across the Valley as well as in the Winter Zone areas of Jammu division.”
It reads that the examination was conducted smoothly with almost full attendance and COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were followed by the supervisory staff with the cooperation of the school management where the examination centres were set up.
“The candidates were briefed about the concessions granted in the examination, that is they had to attempt only 60 marks out of 100 marks,” it reads.
It was also mentioned that this year, one supervisor for 20 students was appointed instead of 30 students, so as to follow the social distancing norm.
The JKBOSE Secretary had instructed the supervisory staff and school managements to facilitate the examinees in the best possible way keeping in view the pandemic and sanctity of the examination—(KNO)
