The official empathy towards control the menace in the Kupwara town and other areas could be gauged from the fact that most of these activities are taking place under the nose of the authorities.
One of mine friend ‘Suhail Yousuf’ wrote on social media that “Drug
menace is rising day by day in Kupwara before few days we have brought
into the notice of SSP kupwara sir that a drug addict is roaming freely
in Kupwara town stops cars and irritate people but today once again
that drug addict person irritate a fruit seller Javeed Ah Khan near
Byepass Kupwara and quarrel with him meanwhile other people their caught
him and found a bottle of fluid and puttin paint box in his pocket.
Now its humble request plz take some action otherwise it will be too late, he wrote.”
Locals told our Special Correspondent Wasim Majnoon Mir, that how administration is turning blind eye towards this growing problem, there are many such areas like under bridges, Public places, streets etc where drug addicts Used syringes, empty alcohol bottles, cigarette bits could be seen scattered across the town and other areas.
