Srinagar: Amid the ongoing worldwide threat of the spread of Coronavirus, Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday, suspended the use of biometric attendance across the Union Territory (UT) till 31st March, 20202.
According to Jammu and Kashmir government spokesperson Rohit Kansal, the administration has decided to suspend the biometric system of attendance in all government offices across the UT, till 31st of March.
The announcement came after the reports of two suspected cases of Coronavirus surface d from Samba district of Jammu division.
Taking to micro blogging site Twitter, Government spokesman Rohit Kansal wrote, “All biometric attendance in J&K to be suspended immediately till March 31.”
He said that the test reports of the two suspected patients from Jammu have been received. Both are high viral load cases and there is a high probability of their testing positive.
Meanwhile JK administration officials said, “The test reports of the two suspected Coronavirus patients were received, which spoke of them being high viral-load cases. There is a high probability of their testing positive for the infection.”
“Both suspected cases have been kept in isolation at Government Medical College, (GMC) Jammu. They are stable and all protocols are being followed”, they added.
Pertinently both the suspected patients with Coronavirus infection had left the hospital against medical advice a couple of days ago and had to be brought back.
The Coronavirus outbreak originated in China’s Wuhan in December 2019 and has spread to over 60 nations, killing more than 3,000 people and infecting over 90,000 worldwide.
