SRINAGAR JULY 17 (PTK): A total of 126 militants have been killed by security and defence personnel in the state of Jammu and Kashmir till June 2019, the Ministry of Home Affairs said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha Wednesday. The Centre also extradited or deported 27 accused militants in the last three and a half years.
The Home Ministry also said that pursuant to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government’s zero tolerance policy against terrorism, the forces were taking proactive measures to neutralise terrorists.
16 militants arrested via the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in so far 2019. In 2018, 24 arrests were made through the global police organisation, 35 in 2017, and 36 in 2016.
India also sent 41 Red Corner Notice for international arrests to the Interpol in 2019 so far, out of which 32 have been published. In 2016, the CBI sent 91 notices, of which 87 was published. In 2017, 94 notices were sent, of which 87 were published while in 2018, 123 notices were sent, out of which just 76 were published. (PTK)
