Srinagar, JULY 13: People from all walks of life joined today AIP’s march to Martyrs graveyard Naqashbandh Sahab Srinagar to pay tributes to martyrs of 13 July 1931.
On the occasion Er. Rasheed addressed a gathering at the graveyard and urged New Delhi and Islamabad not to make Kashmir a battle field and should fulfill the promises made with Kashmiris at United Nations and other places from time to time.
Amid slogans Er. Rasheed asked New Delhi not to forget that Jawahar Lal Nehru was India’s Prime Minister and commitments made by him need to be fulfilled and respected. He lashed out at Governor for not visiting the graveyard and said “No doubt the martyrs don’t need tributes from those who are carrying the legacy of those who butchered them on 13 July 1931, but the state being under Governor’s rule, Mr. Malik was duty bound to visit the martyr’s graveyard.
It is horrible that as usual BJP disgraced the martyrs and no one from the party turned up to the place. By such cheap acts BJP is proving that it has no respect for the state constitution and they should be booked under law for this horrible arrogance.
New Delhi has lowered the stature of its own parliament by passing a resolution, claiming entire J&K to be India’s integral part but never giving a roadmap to fulfill its claim. However even Mr. Modi knows that the only way to implement parliament resolution is to win hearts and minds of people of J&K, hold a plebiscite and make J&K India’s integral part”.
Er. Rasheed urged PM Narendra Modi to introspect and find why Kashmiris celebrated victory of New Zealand cricket team in world cup semi-final.
Er. Rasheed said “Those feeling satisfied for the reason that no strike call was given in Kashmir on Amit Shah’s visit must not forget that it was a goodwill gesture from people of Kashmir and should not be seen as their weakness.
Celebrating Newzealand victory over India by Kashmiris should be matter of great concern and it should not be difficult for anyone to realize and measure the level of alienation. Kashmiris are not India’s enemies but are seeking a resolution to seventy year long dispute and New Delhi wants to shut their mouth by labelling everyone as Pakistani sympathizer”.
Er. Rasheed further added that the real heirs of martyrs of 13 July are not only common Kashmiris but in particular the people of Downtown who have sacrificed everything. He said “The martyrs of 13 July had laid down their lives for honor and dignity of people of J&K but that dream is still a dream. From Maharaja to Satya Pal Malik’s rule Kashmiris have seen nothing except miseries and humiliations”.
Those who joined the procession to the martyr’s graveyard included Dr. Bari Nayak, Ishtiyaq Qadri, Molvi Shabir, Er. Muneer, Nazir Ahmad Moon, Showkat Zargar and Mohmmad Maqbool Beigh. (PTK)
