Srinagar, July 3: At least eighteen girl students, a teacher and a cook were injured after a school excursion bus they were on board met with an accident at Lar Bypass area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Reports reaching said that the bus registration number JK15-5460 was carrying students and staff of Government Middle School Pehtkoot Check Watrigam Bandipora to a picnic.
The accident occurred when the bus on its return from Sonamarg reached near Repora Lar Byepass, and skidded off the road.
In the incident, 18 girl students, a school teacher and a cook were injured who were moved to nearby hospital for treatment.
A senior doctor at the health facility said that 18 injured girl students and a male teacher were received by the hospital.
The doctor identified the injured students as Aabida (13) daughter of Ghulam Sarwer, Tasleema (15) daughter of Raveed Ahmad, Sareena (15) daughter of Gulab Khan, Zafreena (15) daughter of Ghulam Hassan, Naseema (14) daughter of Shabir Gojar, Arizo (12) daughter of Mohd Rafiq, Saima (11) daughter of Mohmad Shareef Khan, Sabeena (13) daughter of Mohd Shareef Khan, Sameera (09) daughter of Ali Gowher Khan, Aabida (13) daughter of Mohd Lateef, Tasleema (12) daughter of Fayaz Gojer, Mehnaaz Bano (13) daughter of Mohd Amin Khan, Jameena Bano (14) Abdul Rashid Gojer, Parveena (12) daughter of Jameel Ahmad Gojer, Kulsoma (13) daughter of Showket Khan and Shabeena (14) daughter of Sarfaraz Khan, all Residents Of Check Watrigam, Bandipora. Two more persons including a school teacher Mohammad Yousuf (36) Chopan Son of Mohd Abdullah of Panzalpora and a cook Haseena Jan wife of Abdul Khaliq.
Five among the injured include Kulsuma, Tasleema and Parveena were referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.
A police officer of the concerned police station that a case under FIR 35/2019 under section 279, 337 RPC was registered and further investigations taken up. (GNS)
