Baramulla, September 8: A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out a raid at a residential house in Zangam village of Pattan town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.Sources said the raid was conducted at the residence of one Umer Rashid Lone during the early morning hours. The operation, according to officials, was part of an ongoing investigation being pursued by the agency.
The search was conducted amid tight security and lasted for several hours. However, there was no immediate confirmation from the NIA about any recoveries or detentions made during the raid.
The movement in the area was briefly restricted during the operation, though the situation returned to normal once the search was completed.
The NIA has in recent months intensified its operations in different parts of Kashmir, particularly in connection with militancy-related cases.
