LEH, JULY 18: ;Newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, has pledged a united and people-centric approach to accelerate the region’s development and transform Ladakh into a global tourism hotspot.
Speaking shortly after assuming office, LG Gupta stated, “We will work unitedly for the development of Ladakh. There has been a lot of discrimination against Ladakh in the past. We want to take Ladakh to a stage where it will be named among the top states for tourism in the world.”
Gupta, a senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, emphasized that inclusive governance and strategic planning will be the core of his administration. The focus will be on enhancing connectivity, empowering local communities, and promoting Ladakh’s rich culture and unique landscape globally.
The announcement has sparked optimism among local stakeholders, especially in the tourism and hospitality sectors, who believe this could mark a turning point for the region’s long-awaited aspirations.
