Zamin Peerzada, Ganderbal, February 13, 2025: The Sessions Court in Ganderbal has delivered a significant verdict in a case involving the kidnapping and rape of a minor, with the accused receiving a lengthy prison sentence.
The case dates back to 2019, when a complaint was received by Police Station Ganderbal from the parents of a minor who was kidnapped. An FIR (No. 136/2019) was registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and following an investigation, the accused, Mohammad Saleem Tiploo, son of Mohammad Maqbool Tiploo, a resident of Anchar Soura, was charged under Section 363 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
After hearing the arguments from both sides, Principal Sessions Judge Abdul Nasir delivered the verdict, Sentenced accused for 7 years for offence u/s 363 IPC and 20 years rigorous imprisonment for 4 POCSO Act and fine of 25000/- and 50000/- both the sentences shall run separately. failing to deposit fine one month imprisonment. The judgment was delivered on February 13, 2025, marking a significant step in upholding the rights and protection of minors.
The prosecution was conducted by Public Prosecutor Shafaat Ahmad, representing the UT Government, who presented a compelling case against the accused.
