Srinagar : A massive blaze damaged several residential houses in Kapran of Verinag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.
They told GNS that a fire broke out from a residential house at Yakerboru Bala village this afternoon, and soon after spread to several houses in proximity. “A rescue operation was initiated by locals and police following which men and machinery from Fire & Emergency Department reached the site to douse off the raging flames”, the official said adding “after hours of operation, the fire was contained, not before it had damaged at least four residential houses and another structure.”
The official said the residential houses belonged to; Abdul Rashid Ganie, son of Gull Mohammad, Abdul Rehman son of Mohammad Jamal, Bashir Ahmad Chopan son of Mohammad Ramzan and Mushtaq Ahmad Chopan son of Abdul Rehman.
A police official in the meantime told GNS that a case has been registered into the incident. (GNS)
