New Delhi: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers and others on Thursday lauded the nurses for their selfless and commitment to serving humanity on the occasion of International Nurses Day. Expressing his gratitude to nurses for their vital role in healthcare system, the VP in a tweet wrote, “My greetings to all the hardworking nurses on the occasion of International Nurses Day today. From administering medications to patients, monitoring their treatment or caring for the ill, they do it all covering the entire spectrum of caregiving with devotion.” “International Nurses Day is an opportunity to express our gratitude to nursing fraternity, which is recognised for its selfless service to humanity. Their deep commitment to protecting lives and public health is commendable,” Om Birla tweeted. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said nurses are the strong pillars of our medical sector and their dedication and compassion bring hope and belief during the toughest of times. “On International Nurses Day, my gratitude and greetings to all the nurses. We salute their selflessness and commitment to serving humanity,” Shah wrote in a social media post. Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju in a tweet wrote, “On International Nurses Day, I express my deep gratitude to all the Nurses for their inspiring services and spirited fight against COVID-19.” BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda said, “International Nurses Day is a day to express gratitude and show our appreciation to all the hardworking and dedicated nursing staff around the globe who work day in and day out to keep us and our planet healthy. Their compassion, and sense of duty should be hailed forever.” Extending greetings to the nurses, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in a tweet said,” I salute our nurses, who are the backbone of our healthcare system. ” The former Congress president said their hard work and dedication keeps Indians healthy and saves lives.
