Mumbai: Maharashtra has recorded 224 new Covid-19 cases and single death, according to the health bulletin on Monday. With the addition of these new cases, the state’s case tally has surged to 78,79,278 and the death toll stands at 1,47,846. Meanwhile, 196 patients were discharged, taking overall count of recoveries to 77,30,196. The state’s recovery rate significantly came down to 98.11 per cent and fatality rate 1.87 per cent . Currently, 1,304 active patients were getting treatment in different hospitals, the bulletin stated. Meanwhile, no positive cases were reported across in the eight districts of Marathwada region, the bulletin said. However, Thane district reported 30 new cases, taking tally to 7,09,208, an official said. As no deaths were reported, the fatalities remained as 11,894. The mortality rate was 1.67 per cent, he added. In neighbouring Palghar district, the Covid case count has gone up to 1,63,612 while the death toll was 3,407 an official from Palghar said.
