Meerut: A major fire broke out in a chemical factory in Mawana town of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Police said the factory is owned by Mahalaxmi Group in Mawana town, 24 km from Meerut city. Around one and a half dozen workers were trapped inside after the fire erupted. The police said explosions in the chemical filled barrels gave a new life to the fire. Fire tenders were also called from nearby areas and the workers trapped inside were rescued.
