COVID-19: Only 24 cases; no death reported in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday reported 24 fresh cases pushing the number of active cases to 312 while no death was reported in the last 24 hours in the UT.

With no more deaths, the death toll in J&K stands at 4,749 and 24 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 453,347.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 24 new cases, 12 belong to Kashmir division while as 12 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 287,212 including 284,621 recoveries and 2,423 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 166,135 including 163,665 recoveries and 2,326 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 312 including 168 from Kashmir division and 144 from Jammu division.

With 32 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 448,347 which is 98.88 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 10 from Srinagar, 02 from Baramulla, 00 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 00 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 00 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 12 from Jammu division include 05 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.

As per officials figures, 102,303 positive cases including 907 deaths and 101,291 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,614 including 304 deaths and 37,271 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,806 including 34,567 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Budgam, 18,418 including 18,215 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,730 including 174 deaths and 21,545 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,419 including 22,200 recoveries and 219 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,678 cases including 13,555 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,626 including 13,542 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,314 including 16,191 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,304 including 6,244 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 76,104 including 74,785 recoveries and 1,222 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,764 including 14,615 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,802 including 12,550 recoveries and 249 deaths are from Rajouri, 11,510 including 11,347 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Doda, 11,407 including 11,238 recoveries and 166 deaths are from Kathua, 9,084 including 8,957 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Samba, 5,888 including 5,834 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,739 including 7,626 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Poonch, 8,135 including 8,060 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,702 including 8,653 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,184,154 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 32,643 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 312 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 5,689,973 persons have completed the surveillance period and 456,477 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 23,651,680 samples are available. Out of 23,651,680 the number of samples tested negative stands at 23,198,333 while as 453,347 have tested positive, among them 312 cases are active, 448,286 have recovered and 4,749 persons have died—(KNO)
