Caps social gathering to 100 people
Srinagar, April 17: Keeping in view the spike in Covid-19 cases, Jammu and Kashmir government Saturday constituted a high level member committee to ensure adequate and timely supply of oxygen to all hospitals.
According to a government order issued by the Commissioner Secretary to the government Manoj Kumar Diwedi, the constitution of a committee will ensure adequate and timely supply of medical oxygen to all hospitals to meet the requirements of Covid-19 patients in Jammu and Kashmir.
The committee will be headed by Principal Secretary to the government Industries and Commerce department while its members include Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir/Jammu, Director SKIMS, Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu/Srinagar, Director, NHM J&K, Director Industries & Commerce Jammu/Kashmir, Director, Health & Family Welfare, J&K and Director Health Services Jammu/Kashmir.
“To meet frequently and make necessary arrangements for ensuring a regular and adequate supply of medical oxygen to all hospitals to meet any current and future needs,” the order reads.
“To ensure adequate stocking of medical oxygen, wherever necessary, the committee shall be serviced by Industries & Commerce Department.”
Jammu and Kashmir had recorded 11,45 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday taking the infection count to 1,45,166 while three deaths due to the virus raised the toll to 2,051 in the region.
Meanwhile, in another order, after an overall assessment of the situation pertaining to the spread of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has restricted the social gathering to 100 people.
A detailed review of the current COVID situation in Jammu and Kashmir was conducted by the Financial Commissioner, Health, Administrative Secretary School Education, and Divisional Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The ceiling on the number of people permitted to attend gatherings, functions shall stand reduced from 200 to 100. This shall apply to both indoor as well as outdoor gatherings/ functions,” the order reads.
The District Magistrates have also been directed to enforce COVID appropriate behaviour among the people.
“The District Magistrates shall strictly enforce the COVID appropriate behaviour of wearing masks and maintaining social distance. Stringent punitive action under relevant provisions of Law should be taken against defaulters,” the order said.
