Srinagar:Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a hybrid militant affiliated with Al-Badr in South Kashmir’s Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
In a statement issued to GNS, police said that on a specific information regarding movement of militants in Beigund, Awantipora, Police alongwith Army’s 42RR and CRPF’s 130 battalion established a joint checkpoint in the area. During checking, one hybrid militant identified as Aamir Ahmed Parray son of Abdul Rashid Parray of Kashwa Chitragam, Shopian, linked with Al-Badr, was arrested.
It further claimed that incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including a pistol and 4 pistol rounds were recovered from his possession.
In this connection, it said, a case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation has been initiated.(GNS)
